Most of what looks like investing is actually waiting, and most of waiting is resisting the urge to confuse activity with progress. A name goes on the watchlist not because nothing is happening, but because the one thing I need hasn’t happened yet.
Patience isn’t passivity. It’s a position with no ticker.
A story can be wonderful and still not be a reason. So I keep the trigger explicit, the size pre-decided, and the rest of my attention on whether the thing I’m waiting for is getting closer or quietly slipping away.
